April Updates

Read Now

April is nearly over and May is just around the corner. We know this month has been rough for everyone. We would like to thank everyone for their understanding through all our recent policy changes, especially as we transitioned to curbside only for the time being.

As we go into May, we will be doing routine appointments again provided the stay at home order stays lifted. At present, it lifts on April 30th. We ask that everyone who needs to come in call for appointments. As of May 1st, we will stop doing curbside service (again, this is dependent on guidelines from the CDC and AVMA which may change).

Because of policy changes during the stay at home order, we will be doing $10.00 nail trims through the month of May.

We know many people have asked about rabies clinic week. The dates for that week are chosen by the health department. As soon as we know, we will make sure the information is posted both on here and on our Facebook page.

Good morning everyone! We hope you are all enjoying the warmer weather. We have a few updates and policy changes for you:

  1. We are limiting all visits to one human per visit.
  2. If you would prefer to wait in your car while we examine your pet, call when you get here, and we will come out to get your pet.
  3. We are REQUIRING appointments for everything.
  4. We are asking all non-essential items to be held off for a few weeks. This includes (but is not limited to) the following:
    1. Baths
    2. Nail Trims
    3. 6-Month Check-Ups
  5. Due to these changes, we are extending our March Spay Month promotion until April 15th.
  6. Remember, we do have an online pharmacy if you need any supplies but don't feel comfortable coming in to get them. The link can be found on our website and our Facebook page.
  7. For the protection of our staff, if you are showing signs of illness when you come in, you will be asked to wear a mask for the duration of your visit.
  8. If you are sick, please stay home unless it is an emergency.

As we know more, we will post updates.

Stay safe,

First, we would like to thank everyone who came out earlier this month to the Martin Christmas Parade! It was wonderful to see everyone there to support all the floats! We are proud to say that our float won 1st place in the commercial division!

Next, we have new holiday hours this year.

We will be closed on both Tuesday and Wednesday for Christmas. We had previously thought that we might be open until noon on Christmas Eve, but we decided to be closed for the entire day so our wonderful employees could spend a little more time with their families. We will be open our normal hours on Thursday, December 26th.

As for New Year's, we will be open until 12:00 PM (Noon) on December 31st (New Year's Eve), closed all day on January 1st (New Year's Day), and open normal hours on January 2nd.

If you have an emergency, please refer to our earlier post for instructions.

We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Holidays!

First, we would like to thank everyone who came out for our Halloween Costume Contest! We always love seeing how creative people are, and we are blown away by how cute our patients are in costume.

Second, November is Feline Neuter Month! For this November only, neuters on cats will be $50.00! We do have a few conditions though:
  1. All the cats must have an appointment. This is non-optional. Please call ahead. We do surgeries on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
  2. All surgery patients must be have a current rabies vaccination/certificate from a veterinarian. If they do not, the vaccine will be given here. Rabies vaccination is law. At Hooks Pet Clinic, it is done once yearly.
  3. Payment is required at the time services are done. We do not do payment plans. If you need an estimate, please call us or make an appointment to speak with our doctor.

Third, we will be closed Thursday, November 28th for Thanksgiving. If you would like to board your dogs or cats over the holiday (or over Christmas or New Year's), please call ahead. Space is limited. If you have any questions about vaccine requirements or pricing, call us and we will be happy to go over everything. Also remember, we do not have any pick-up or drop-off times outside of our normal business hours. We will not have pick-up or drop-off times on Thanksgiving. We also have a special meal for Thanksgiving ($4.00 for cats and $6.00 for dogs) for anyone who wants their dog or cat to have a few extra goodies while they are boarding over the holidays.

Finally, for the 15th year in a row, local businesses are getting together for a coat and toy drive led by Cash Express and local charities! They are accepting new and gently used coats, shoes, toys, and clothing at various locations throughout the area. If you wish to donate, a donation box has been placed in our lobby. The drive will end on December 4th. We also have flyers in our lobby if you wish for more information.

October is Here!

First, we would like to thank everyone who came out for Dental Month! Our numbers go up every year we have it, and we are incredibly thankful.

Second, at the end of this month, we will not have a Pet of the Month. Instead, we will be hosting our 4th Annual Halloween Pet Costume Contest! To enter, you must have your pet in costume in the lobby of the clinic on Halloween (a Thursday this year) between 8:00 AM-4:30 PM. The pictures will be posted on our Facebook page once that time has passed. We will announce the winner the afternoon of November 1st based on the number of reactions on the pictures.

The winner will receive a basket of goodies and their picture will become our profile picture on Facebook until the next Pet of the Month is announced!

Finally, we know the holidays are fast approaching. Thanksgiving is next month with Christmas and New Year's following close behind. If you are planning to go out of town and board your dogs and/or cats for the holidays, please call ahead to schedule their spots in our kennels. We know some things can be left to the last minute when you're traveling, please don't let your pets' boarding be one of them.

We will post the days we are going to be closed once the time gets closer. We hope everyone has a great October, a great holiday season, and a great day in general!
